I am a qualified horticulturist with over 40 years experience in growing edible gardens in an urban space. I am passionate about sharing information to help others from making costly and frustrating mistakes, and to ensure they maximise the space available. I am an author of three books, that will help you on your journey to having a productive and attractive garden that has its own ecosystem, reducing your reliance on chemicals to keep it pest free. I encourage everyone to be as organic as they can possibly be, using innovative ways to deter and control pests and diseases naturally. I use companion plants heavily to encourage pollinators, and predators alike, into gardens to ensure diversity and natural control of pests.
Conisder a garden consultation, I carry them out online all over Australia. COVID-19 has taught me that I don't need to physiclly visit your garden to see it. I get you to record a video of your garden front and back telling me about what you would like to be getting from it and send it to me via WhatsApp or messenger. You may have trees you don't know how to prune, or some problems you would like advice on, you can include in the video. Once the video has been sent I review it and arrange a Live face to face meeting online, where I share heaps of photos demonstrating what is possible for your garden re-inforcing my advice. The sessions last for about 1.5 hours and can be conducted in the evening if you need, once the kids and any distractions are out of the way. This saves you taking time off from work if need be, however they can be done at anytime of the day or night that suits you.
